Make the most of your blog in a week of vacation

There comes a period in which it is easy to find a few days off that you can take advantage of to make improvements to your blog.

I take advantage of long weekends like a good Rodriguez who stays at home working, I don’t know but since I have something on the blog that doesn’t convince me, I’m looking forward to changing it on vacation. I recommend that when you get into improvement projects on a website you try to have at least three days to get down to work to fix and do things that make us lazy in the blog and surroundings,  so you can combine it with rest, you won’t get overwhelmed and you can better plan priorities. There are tasks that if we did them in a row would possibly take us more than 10 hours, it is very difficult to find that time in the midst of the whirlwind of routine, so you can transform a bridge at home without plans into something productive.

Make the most of your blog in a week of vacation
I don’t know if it happens to you like me, but my blog occupies more and more of my life and I have to adapt its physical and virtual space, that’s why I have proposed these 4 tasks that will help you take advantage of a week of vacation with your blog.
If you have a week of vacation to dedicate to your blog, you can start doing complex things that at another time of the year is almost impossible. I propose 4 alternatives for you to take advantage of your blog on days off.

1 Migrate your blog to another platform

Well, yes, with a few days ahead of you, you can do the migration with peace of mind because if you have more time, much better to finish Search Console details, configure analytics. The good thing about doing migrations and things that have to do with hosting is that During long weekends, the technical service is at your disposal almost exclusively since the professionals are not working and will assist you more quickly.
About migrating, not migrating and other myths I have several posts:

2 Change your blog template on vacation

The change of template is very cool and if it is to a premium one it is much cooler, but be clear that it is an investment of time. If you have never changed the template, it happens as with migrating the blog, the normal thing is to be more afraid than seven old women and to be careful trying everything, that is the ideal but with time we are trusting. It is a very good idea to make staff changes on long weekends because, as a general rule, they are a low visiting period, everyone is on vacation and unless there are exceptional cases, you will not lose many visits. It is also a relaxing time and you can take it as something comfortable, not fixed gear.

3 Improve or create the corporate image of your blog

In these days of relaxation take the opportunity to get inspired by seeing more things, look for the colors or the font you like, try to improve or make the logo you need. It is not only the logo, but how you present it on the networks, your headers, the style of your publications, your color palette. it may not be as big a task as a migration and change of template but it has its own.

It is good to take advantage of vacations or spaces of several days to focus on making decisions, because they allow you to have a clear mind and time to be able to:

  • Gather information
  • make mood boards
  • Get inspired and soak up the trends
  • have time to do things
  • Compare and search professionals
  • Visit other similar blogs

4 Expand your team to blog

Many people will think that it is a whim but not at all, it is necessary to have a small but effective team. Being comfortable with your workspace, no matter how small it is, is more important than you think, since it affects your disposition when writing, your mood and can even speed up your work.

TAKE THE OPPORTUNITY TO BUY A LAPTOP ON VACATION

I know people who run their blog from their mobile or tablet and recognize that it’s hell, sometimes we don’t need to invest a fortune for our blog (if we don’t edit video).
Basically we need something very simple that serves as I would say «a computer for the internet, to watch videos on YouTube, manage Facebook and that Canva does not crash», I will tell you how I ask the boy who bought them for more 20 years old. I recommend changing the computer or buying it on vacation because you have plenty of time to configure it, hopefully you can download all the apps you need and install a good work environment in a short time and with more speed… I notice that my neighbors are not there much haha. I leave you a suggestion of very well priced laptops that are enough for a blog, I have given my boy the Lenovo and it is going well, I am not in favor of killing flies with cannon fire and it is convenient to see computers in advance.
