Measure the positioning of your blog and hallucinate using data

Thanks to measuring the positioning in a correct and personalized way, we can make decisions to improve and reach surprising conclusions that without measuring we would not have suspected

I am going to tell you a secret, I am a data junkie, I love to measure, perform statistics and see the evolution and development and based on this make decisions and also predict what will happen to a website

Like a shepherd looks to the sky and knows if it is going to rain or hail, a person with analytical knowledge can foresee changes in his niche, crisis, see penalties, follow trends… and of course rule out dead ends.

I am an SEO professional and without data and tools it is difficult for me to improve results and correct many things that affect positioning.

What is the purpose of measuring positioning

It helps us make important decisions, see when they are most convenient and also to reject

Measuring the positioning is good for us to know the impact that our blog has and how important it is for search engines, thanks to measuring the average position we can know how complicated it is to find our blog.

Good positioning is an indicator of good health on a blog or website, that is why measuring the status of our position in Google is important.

Better positioned does not mean more visited, for Google there are more than 200 parameters to evaluate and visits matter but in case there is a technical tie between blogs.

Market studies are important when working on a blog and thanks to them we can know what scope our content can have, in case we work with products it is very important.

What we measure in positioning

We mainly measure the average position we occupy in search engines, we always take Google by reference since it is the most severe.

Another metric that matters to us is the number of visits we receive in a month.

This is the metric that most people take into account the most but it is not the only one and there are other very important metrics that will provide us with very interesting data and in the next post we will see the metrics in depth to see what we deduce from those numbers

In this case, as we are going to see pure and simple positioning, we are going to measure with Google Search Console or Google Webmasters tools, it is free, there are more accurate methods such as Semrush or Hrefs but they are paid.

Average position can be found in the Serach Console> Search Traffic
